With the holiday season upon us it is certainly one of the most stressful times of year - imagine adding in an out of state relocation on top! Shopping for friends and family can always be a difficult task because it's sometimes hard to know what someone wants (or needs).

Whether you're moving 30 miles or 3,000 miles, moving always comes with the stress of finding the right company to do the job. You may not be able to pay for the full move for your friend or family member but just the help of finding a reputable company could be all that's needed and very appreciated.
Rent a Storage Unit for a Month or Two
When moving there is typically some downsizing involved or they may need temporary storage in their new city until they get settled. Storage can be necessary for a number of reasons - their new house isn't quite ready to occupy, not enough space for all the items or they just want to be able to clear out an organize what they have to move. Typically storage of this type is short-term so you might even have a corner in your basement where they can store a few things temporarily.
Gifting for a new city!
Moving to a new city can be overwhelming and even a bit scary. A good idea for a gift would be gift certificates to local restaurants or even an upcoming event in the area. This is great for the people who are moving because they will be able to get to know their new city. Some things you could consider gifting: a trip to a theme park or local zoo, concert or sporting event tickets, well-known local restaurants or even a spa day for some relaxation after the move.
You could also get your friends or family members memberships to places such as gyms, museums or country clubs. All of these will help your loved ones feel more at home in their new city.
Gifting moving supplies!
There are tons of supplies that you can buy for your loved ones such as; packing tape, boxes of any sizes, bubble wrap, items to protect fragile pieces, etc. Other items to think about gifting would be; cleaning supplies, paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, etc.), really anything you think would be useful when you arrive at your new destination. Also, new decorations for their lawn or inside the house is a nice housewarming gift.
A great non-holiday gift!
When relocating after the holidays have passed, you can still give a great gift that will be appreciated (and maybe needed!). A nice care package would be nice to arrive to at their new location. You may include items like toiletries, new toothbrushes, coffee, snacks and travel sized items like shampoo or body wash.
Anything that you decide to gift this holiday season to your loved ones in the process of a move will be greatly apprecaited. Moving is one of the most stressful things that a person will do in their lives and your consideration will make the transition a bit nicer!
